Equinor

Equinor (formerly known as Statoil) is a broad international energy company and the leading operator on the Norwegian continental shelf. Furthermore, Equinor is a growing force in renewables and one of the world leaders within CCS. Equinor is the operator of Technology Centre Mongstad, the world’s biggest test centre for carbon capture. It is also developing, in cooperation with Shell and Total, the Northern Lights project (the transport and storage part) of Norway’s full-scale CCS project set to become operational by 2024. Northern Lights is an “open access” CO₂ infrastructure project providing European industry with the opportunity to ship and store CO₂ on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
