SINTEF

SINTEF, a non-profit research institute, is the largest independent contract research organisation in Scandinavia and the fourth largest in Europe. SINTEF Industry’s Chemical and Environmental Process Engineering group, together with NTNU, is a world leader in CO₂ capture using polymeric membranes and solvent - chemical absorption technology that will be used in REALISE. SINTEF Industry’s Department of Biotechnology and Nanomedicine Industry will also participate. SINTEF is also a participant in the EU’s ALIGN-CCUS project and previously in HiPerCap and iCap. Importantly for REALISE, it led the ReCAP project, a collaboration with the IEA and Concawe, which evaluated the performance and cost of retrofitting CO₂ capture at oil refineries. REALISE will build on ReCAP’s findings.
