Bord Gais Electricity

Bord Gais Electricity, part of the UK’s Centrica Group, is a utility supplying gas, electricity and energy services in Ireland. It operates the Whitegate CCGT, Cork’s other power plant, where a CO2 capture plant could be fitted under the Cork CCUS project. Under REALISE’s ‘sector-coupling’ concept, the steam needed for CO2 capture at the refinery could come from the Whitegate power plant which is adjacent to it.
